Why photographers look for a Bloom alternative
Bloom does a lot for a studio, and plenty of photographers like it. If billing is the part you actually use, here’s where Onigiri is different.
A studio suite for a billing job
Galleries, scheduling, forms and websites you may never open. Onigiri is just invoices and card payments, from $0.
A cut of every card payment
Some entry plans add a platform fee on top of Stripe. Onigiri PRO adds 0%, and the money goes straight to your own Stripe account.
Weeks of setup
No workflows to build or forms to configure. Add a client, connect Stripe and send your first invoice in minutes.
A real person on the other end
Onigiri is indie-made. When you email us, the person who builds it replies.
Pricing and fees
Bloom has no free plan, only a 7-day trial. Its Starter plan is $18 a month or $168 a year, covers 3 active projects and adds a 1.5% fee to card and ACH payments. On a single $2,950 wedding, that’s $44.25. Onigiri’s free plan never expires, and PRO adds 0%.
What you pay on $20,000 of card payments a year
Ten $2,000 US card payments at Stripe’s standard 2.9% + 30¢. Bloom adds its 1.5% fee to card and ACH payments on Starter; Standard ($408 a year) and Plus ($792 a year) have no Bloom fee. Bloom often runs an introductory discount; these are list prices. Sources: bloom.io and stripe.com, October 2026.
